In 2010, PANDORA sponsored the ME/CFS Worldwide Patient Alliance where patients rallied together and donated their money to place advertisements calling for more research, since they are too sick to do public demonstrations. A 1/2 page ad appeared in The Washington Post, and in 2012, public service announcements aired in different parts of the country. Press releases are also part of the project.
To make sure messages reflected the patients' voice, the patients voted on which
ad they preferred and which public service announcement they preferred.
The ads and public service announcement were designed by patients.
